AN INSPECTOR CALLS
by J.B.Priestley
directed by John Jenkins
3 May – 19 May 2012
Thursday to Saturday at 8pm, Wednesday 16 May at 8pm
Sunday 6 May & 13 May at 2pm
About the play
A family engagement celebration is interrupted by the arrival of an inspector of police who informs the family that his visit is due to a young woman’s apparent suicide. When questioned as to how this was relevant to any person here, the inspector shows the man of the house a photograph of the dead woman. From that point on a mystery begins to unfold. Accusations fly back and forth.
Involvements become apparent and guilt begins to take control as the inspector systematically brings down the walls of each of those present. With a story built on morals and an ending that those who have watched still talk about today, An Inspector Calls is a classic in every sense of the word. A gripping drama with lessons learned and one never forgotten.

Proposed Impressionist Lab (gallery) @ Yarra Flats Park
Posted by banyuleblogboard in Exhibitions, General on April 24, 2012
Community Information Day
Hi all,
As you are aware, Banyule City Council is proposing to develop a new and very exciting cultural facility within Yarra Flats Park called the Impressionist Lab (working title only).
The Impressionist Lab will be a purpose built gallery and education centre that will celebrate the contribution of the Heidelberg School artists and will be based in the area that moved and inspired them in the late 1880’s. This is when artist’s camps were set up along the Yarra River in Heidelberg , Eaglemont and Ivanhoe.
The Impressionist Lab is one of three projects being proposed as part of the Preliminary Yarra Flats Park Concept Plan developed by Parks Victoria. The other two projects are the Melbourne Water Wetlands and a Tree Based Eco Facility.
This Sunday (29 April), Parks Victoria will be holding an onsite community Information and consultation session at Yarra Flats Park between 10:00am-2:00pm.
Banyule Council Officers and representatives from the Heidelberg School Art Foundation will be in attendance to talk about the proposed Impressionist Lab project as well as representatives from Melbourne Water and Parks Victoria to talk through the other proposals.
If you would like to see where we are proposing to locate the proposed Impressionist Lab facility as well as hear about the other proposals (Melbourne Water Wetlands and Tree Based Eco Facility) or would just like to come down and show your support for the Impressionist Lab we’d love to see you there.
We are also looking for written feedback on the Impressionist Lab. Your feedback would be very much appreciated so please fill in this quick online survey:

For further information you can:
- view the brochure that we handed out recently to the local community by clicking here
- view the Preliminary Yarra Flats Concept Plan on the Parks Victoria website here
Hope to see you there on Sunday, rain hail of shine.
